Dr. Deborah MarynakAs the author of Dental Health Today, Dr. Marynak has worked in the field of dentistry for nearly 45 years. She began her career as a dental technician in the field of ‘porcelain jacket crowns’ in 1970. In 1972, while working at Boos Dental Lab, she began taking evening classes preparing to enter the dental hygiene program. She graduated from Normandale Community College, School of Dental Hygiene in 1976. Shortly thereafter she began pre-dental studies and entered the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 1980.

Since graduating from the U of MN School of Dentistry in 1984, she has owned and operated a private practice for 20 years, worked as an associate in Wisconsin and Oregon, gained experience in corporate dentistry, nursing home dentistry, prison dentistry and most recently worked at the Ho-Chunk Healthcare Clinic in Black River Falls, WI, directing the dental clinic.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her four legged children of two dogs and two cats…all rescues. She loves gardening, antiquing and repurposing those items most people see as junk! If it’s rusty metal or has peeling paint, she wants it. Perhaps her next adventure will be in becoming a picker!
